4th of July

Micah and I love the 4th of July. It is a holiday where there are many things to do but is also partly relaxing. That fits the bill for us, anyway.

This 4th of July though we weren't able to spend with our families. We were really missing them and all the fun traditions! Also, our friends we hang out with the most were out of town or waiting the arrival of a baby and had family visiting. Needless to say next year I will have to do a better job planning some fun traditions for us to start. We did are best and made the most of it.

In the morning Micah decorated our waffles with blue and white home-made cream, and strawberries for the stripes. It turned out really good but was pretty sweet. We then watched an Independence day episode from The West Wing t.v. series.

Later in the evening we joined some of the families in our ward to watch the fireworks. We have a lot of fun hanging out with these great families, and their kids crack us up. We threw around a Frisbee and watched the kids toss goldfish crackers to the birds (Interesting I know but it was funny to watch). When it was dark enough, we pulled out the glow sticks, wands, glasses, and balls. The kids were decked out! We then settled down to watch an amazing firework show.

We didn't think to take a picture until it was getting dark so sorry for the not so great picture.
