4th Of July

Fireworks at Kemah

This year we were away from family for Independence Day, but we tried to stay busy so we wouldn't miss them too much. Our ward held a Patriotic Sing Along the Sunday before the 4th. At first we were a little skeptical but it was a neat experience. We really enjoyed singing songs about our country and learning some songs we hadn't heard before. It was a great experience to honor the men and women in our ward who have served in many different ways to protect our country. Then on the 4th we enjoyed having a BBQ with our dear friends the Harris's. They always know how to throw a fun get together. We ate some delicious hamburgers and enjoyed swimming in the pool. They even made a flag cake which looked awesome. We planned to go see some fireworks but I think some of us were pretty tired from the earlier events. Instead we bought some ice cream and a movie from Red Box to enjoy. It was a great day and we are so glad that we have our own little make-shift family out here. We sure did miss our families and even though we stayed busy we
