Iowa and Missouri

After Nebraska we headed off for our destination of Kansas City, Missouri. Who thought Kansas City was not in Kansas. We went through Iowa and not too long after we were in Missouri and I missed taking a picture of the sign. We stayed the night in Kansas City but the next morning we headed out to see all the church sites. Micah was so excited to be walking where Joseph Smith once walked. We first headed out to Far West which was an adventure trying to find with few road signs.


We found the temple site and there was a great feeling there. There was quite a bit of snow but Micah walked through it to read the plaques and the stone monument. It was amazing to think that the Saints were here.

After Far West we went to Liberty Jail which we both were very excited about. We met a sweet senior couple missionaries who gave us a marvelous tour. We received a private tour and they shared stories with us that they don't normally share. The Replica of Liberty Jail was awesome to see and the floor of the jail was the original floor. There was a wonderful feeling there especially with the amazing experiences that Joseph had there.

After Liberty Jail we headed to Independence to the visitor center. They have the bronze statues there and they were beautiful. We had a wonderful sister missionary give us a tour and we had some great discussions with her and I think we all gained something from the experience. We also saw the Community of Christ's temple which looks like an upside down ice cream cone but the architecture was beautiful. We also went to the Missouri temple lot which is owned by the Community of Christ. We had a wonderful time seeing the church sites and we headed out to St. Louis, Missouri for the night.
